@dysfun It's really past time for someone to sort out how to have a public source repository that's not tied to a particular company. (Though honestly I'm not sure how. I remember the days pre-github and that was basically lots of single project repos hosted wherever folks could scrounge up some space)

@wordshaper @dysfun Local repo manager is fossil at the moment. Even though there's a Fossil repo host, I'll probably just mirror to whatever big name is being used by folks I like.

@wordshaper @dysfun my assumption is that GitHub will offer greater access as an alternative to demolishing the surface value of their service. Which is not necessarily better for us.
OTOH Microsoft / GitHub seems to think their primary offering is AI now, so maybe they won't care about damaging the code hosting reputation.
