The bike path is a delight along the water’s edge, with an occasional whiff of sea lion poop and the cacophony of their borking, but otherwise pleasant and easy commute.

My bike is with the mechanic to get a tune up and new pedals and racks

I’m a bit of a super commuter (I come in from SF) but I ride the Airbus so someone else drives me and I do it at weird hours. (I also do it once a week and stay a night)
The people who live in San Jose or Santa Cruz and come in to Monterey by car daily? That doesn’t seem like a fun commute at all
-
lol 45 min to go 1.2 miles in a bus or car (the whole tunnel was crowded)
Yeah even walking the coastal trail is a nicer commute. I don’t know why I bother
-
@skinnylatte San Francisco to Santa Cruz is a banger though
-
@palvaro coz of the views?
-
@skinnylatte yeah. Because the San Mateo county coast is some of the most impressive coastline in the state, and it’s so remote that I don’t even have signal for most of my drive
-
@skinnylatte I don’t feel particularly great about my carbon footprint but I love how my commute looks and feels
-
@palvaro yeah but also
this is a car-centric part of the world that really doesn't give you any options here
-
@skinnylatte over 100 years ago there was a train between Santa Cruz and San Francisco!
-
@palvaro even to monterey! and the steamboat to sacramento from sf!
