@LillyHerself @Chigaze @dyckron βοΈ feels like ignatieff take 2 to me.
I just have a real hard time looking at the polls and coming to the conclusion that everyone is secretly jonesing for an establishment technocrat.

@LillyHerself @megmac @dyckron He may be all that but first and foremost the leader of a party needs to convince Canadians to vote for them. I think for most Canadians he's a complete unknown.

@LillyHerself @Chigaze @megmac @dyckron he didn't do anything interesting as BoC gov. Business as usual. Didn't do anything to educate govt or public on how the BoC's stabilization of the financial system is Canada's largest private industry subsidy.
It's probably not hard to find someone from the financial industry with a lot more charisma that's done more than drive a driverless train.

@johnefrancis Think about it. Do you want a PM who does "interesting" things (like Trump) or do you want a fellow who will quietly and diligently get the job done.

@LillyHerself @Chigaze @megmac @dyckron interesting things, like doing Ju Jitsu on Trump. No less than total war on the myths of conservatism.

@LillyHerself @johnefrancis @Chigaze @megmac that's just it - our preferences matter for naught. The ~37ish % of voters under FPTP in apathetic times with low turnouts who can be persuaded to support Maple MAGA are driving. the. bus.

@dyckron @LillyHerself @Chigaze @megmac movements are built away from the daily farts and grunts of formal politics. Politics will come calling when it's time.
