Does The Guardian already have an official #Mastodon account?

@janvlug @smallcircles i was never very good at math so i have no idea what 'x' is, but The Guardian have some work to do to be more ethical....
Yes, they may need accounts on the fediverse, but not on fedi servers that are hosted from servers in a position to mass surveillance users. More on this shortly. In addition, they need to stop using Fastly for their website, and for serving media like images, by doing so they are feeding information to the very oligarchs of the corporate state whom they are purporting to oppose. As such I cannot access the guardian these days because I know by engaging with the site, it will be used to feed the oligarchs.
So for both fediverse and their own website, if they avoid CAGEMAFIA servers (cloudflare, scam'azon, goog, e.muskrochipped, microshaft, falsebook, fastly, and akamai) that would be ideal.
For resilience, The Guardian ought setup several accounts on several fedi servers so if one goes down they can continue to post from another. The way to do this is each article on the Guardians website will link to one of the several fedi accounts. If one account gets too large then they should stop linking to that fedi account. They ought do that until fediverse has a more sustainable and distributed method of serving media content and hashtags. Sadly fedi is yet to have a distributed method of media delivery and it has resulted in many fediservers moving to scam'azon, cloudflare, and fastly.

It is a good step of #TheGuardian. I hope they make prudent choices going forward.
Just two weeks ago I used their feedback feature to write a screed about how all those articles critical of #Xitter were very incongruent to all those X addresses next to each and every author on the site.
If someone wants to influence the decision-making maybe hopping onto Github issues may reach the right people that lobby for certain tech impl.
