You can’t be part of the #AAPI community unless you name your pets after a food you like: Matcha, Miso, Noodle, Boba.

@skinnylatte dang I guess my next pet’s name will have to be Spam Musubi, which kind of rocks.
-
I also know more than one cat named: Chairman Meow
Usually with Chinese owners
-
@kaminote that’s two pets. Spam and Musubi

@skinnylatte Having worked in a cat shelter here, I have a working theory. The vast majority of HK pet owners name their cats one of three types of names:
- Food names, bonus if it's japanese, ie. Peanut, Mochi, Tofu, Miso, Matcha, etc.
- double 'sound' names, ie. bobo, momo, maomao
- Name that refers to the color/size/weight of the cat, ie. siu hak (small black), feijai (fat guy)
bonus if the name falls under multiple categories ie. fafa (refers to calico cats), gumgum (gold/orange cats) -
@NicMakesStuff I love feizai!!
