Fedizens, that we may #dream more..
fedi installed base
code, lotsa code
technology vision
social experience design
peopleverseAs a generalist I've been passionately making people aware how they may benefit from stepping back now and then, and consider the broader picture in relation to their activities. Think about where they want to be in life and what to achieve. What they dream of.

Especially in #FreeSoftware circles there is tremendous value if way more people adopted different roles across the #SocialStack, swapping hats more often and consider on all levels what society really needs. However, I observed how difficult this hat-swapping is, and how easily in large groups discussions remain stuck on points of minor importance.
(Like fighting over a name, while the concept it should describe remains as yet undefined.)

Also I experienced the difficulty of getting people to agree on a shared (technology) vision and align mindsets and mental models. Just enough as needed to productively set course together
(I am talking at technology ecosystem level, hobby project is fine no problem

My advocacy has often fallen on deaf ears, simply because the deep tech problems require too much attention of people. Different approach is needed, and I now have good ideas to give that hands and feet in more concrete projects, so I don't have to type things over and over again as a tireless evangelist, slowly burning out perhaps.
As is oh so common, also in our dear #FOSS circles.

This difficulty is the reason that the Resilience Maps approach was created.
A clear shared map combined with total transparency of action.

@smallcircles @thepaperpilot just because you mentioned the bus factor recently, and now this toot, I would like to point you to one of my favorites "bike shedding", where a nuclear power plant was delayed for years because the decision makers couldn't decide on the color of the roof of the employee .. bike shed.
