So people (esp POC) who need birthing services, try and stay away from Valley Medical. My partner and I had some sketchy experiences there last week(and a few weeks prior) and we're just learning that a friend, a Black mother, lost her child during birth due to negligence just yesterday. The hospital admitted negligence in the child's birth and from experiences that @nat and I had we're absolutely not surprised.

We were originally planning a low intervention water birth, which Nat truly handled shockingly well until we hit the BP limit for midwives in WA. I learned soooo much preparing for this day and in the process of watching our midwives and doula working. The care and professionalism that crew had was top notch. As has become standard practice for us, the second we got to the hospital birthward no one was wearing a mask. 🫨 #covidisairborn

In addition to the absolute lack of masking and rude/dismissive L&D nurses when we asked them to mask the birthing doctor we had was also very unprofessional.
She kept coming in and "joking" about clacking her forceps together to encourage @nat to birth faster.
Once we got to the pushing phase and Nat needed words of encouragement the doctor began jokingly explaining in great detail how she wanted to do an episiotomy(something we were very against, its generally not done much these days).
