@tjhexf I mean the textbook does tell them to stay within the SSRIs because the other classes have mostly been phased out (due to toxicity concerns)... I went from Duloxetine to Fluoxetine which killed my libido (haha this is a funny joke, because i still get very much uh you know it just makes it harder for me to release myself)
-
@tjhexf i'd describe prozac as the perfect anti depressant for people who want to just edge all the time because my god it is fucking hard to cum

@tjhexf I donโt know, it's really tough. It depends on what sheโs trying to treat you for. I suffer from bipolar (type 2) and for the longest time it was misdiagnosed as major depressive disorder. I didnโt really feel a difference in my anti depressants (unless they had high dosages, in which case Iโd turn into a zombie and ask for them to be reduced because I donโt like being numb). I only really switched from cymbalta over to Prozac after starting my mood stabilizer (which helped a lot with my bipolar). Any SSRI is not going to be effective by itself to treat what I have but in combination with my mood stabilizer I feel normal.

@tjhexf i still advise you to get a second opinion because i do not like her tone towards you. this could literally be her not knowing you have a different condition that also needs treatment in parallel to the anti depressants or her not bothering to try other stuff. i mean you don't just tell someone who's struggling to find a medication that works for them "sometimes i think it's the patient's fault actually"
-
@tjhexf i don't want to say that you have something else going on, but the fact that she hasn't considered that possibility shows.
-
@tjhexf yeah throwing a fucking mix of random ass SSRIs at someone in hopes they'll magically improve is not actually practicing medicine in my opinion
-
@tjhexf my psychiatrist isn't the best when it comes to finding new medication (i am usually the one that tells her) but she does damn make sure that when i am trying something out i feel comfortable to tell her that it's not working. she will ask me if i feel like we should have monthly, 3 months, 6 months intervals just depending on how well i am doing so i never feel like i just have to suffer in silence.

@puppygirlhornypost2 yeah now im kinda fucked up about it because. i think she quite literally tricked me.
she said she wasn't gonna try another ssri, and lexapro is.. an ssri -
@tjhexf regularly checking in with me, asking me questions and how i feel about my own medication. she will ask if i think anything needs to be adjusted because she understands i've been through this for over a decade.
