Boomers and GenX are definitely neck deep in propaganda.
This election has been like trying to explain to your uncle how to use a computer.
"No...just click on "popular working class policy"...no, not Genocide....down at the bottom on the bar, past Corporate Handout...right, now just click...christ, LEFT click."

@contrasocial Sorry, but I mute when people start slinging around personal slurs, e.g., attacks on Boomers when 56% of men between the ages of 18 and 29 voted for Trump. Thanks for understanding my choice to mute.

@midnightwildflower @lolonurse Yes, it's clear that Trump has magical cult status for his followers, so that he stands apart in a single category and can't be compared to anyone. And Hitler's followers and Mussolini's thought exactly the ssame about them.

@photoncollector Poverty? Rampant poverty? And as we have learned from lots of recent history, the Republicans are, of course, very committed to addressing the needs of poor people. Right? One would have to inhabit an unreality bubble to pretend anything of that sort.

@LightFIAR The media are utter SHIT, yet your blame-the-Democrats game is a total replication of what the media are doing right at this moment.

@nazokiyoubinbou Couldn't agree more about the imperative need to teach critical thinking. All the years I was in higher education, I heard persistent talk about that, and yet very little has been done for years now to address that need proactively in many of our educational systems.

@lolonurse @Variant488 Thank you. I'm truly grateful. This week has been an uphill climb for so many of us, due to how the election has affected us, and added to it, I've been called everything but a child of God by people posting on my feed here this week — ridiculous accusations and name-calling targeting someone they don't even know, coming from people who claim to be progressives. It's deeply disheartening to see this happening now, and I appreciate the encouragement all the more.

@boardgamer Obviously we will have to wait and see. Meanwhile, I continue to think that the real danger looming in front of us does not come from the Democratic party — not at all — but from the other party that is now an overt engine of overt fascism.

The poverty is there, and many millions are living with its misery. -

@wdlindsy It's not a game. The DNC leadership MUST take responsibility for their part in this horrific failure. Otherwise, they will continue to lose. I am hardly alone in this assessment.

@photoncollector And the Republican party is, as we both know very well, deeply committed to addressing poverty and assisting those living on the economic margins of society. Their tax policies alone tell us this, right?

William Lindsey :toad:replied to FIAR Light last edited by
@LightFIAR Just as the corporate media are telling us loudly right now — as they keep saying each time the Democrats lose, since their primary objective is to normalize what the Republican party is doing. I refuse to assist the media in that objective.
