I want to buy an iPad but it seems like a waste of money when I have an Android tablet that still works… sometimes
-
@fujiwara Yes it does. Historically the plain iPad has been… hot garbage, at least compared to its same release cycle variants in prior years. I guess they changed that up at some point, since it’s SoC is an iPhone 12’s chip.
-
@sammycola I mean is it really going to be hot garbage for web browsing, YouTube, Plex, recipes, and reading manga? I can’t imagine that it is that bad or even close to how bad Android tablets are… :zerotwoevillaugh:
-
@fujiwara it was with older generations, i guess its not the case anymore. far better than similarly priced android tablets lmao
-
@sammycola I might still look into the mini because I think I might prefer it, but anything beats the garbage Android tablets on the market :ChikaREEEE:
-
@fujiwara The mini is my preferred size since it’s not unwieldy when laying in bed to read, might be worth getting one second hand if they are noticeable cheaper.
-
@sammycola I like the size for reading but everything else I prefer the bigger tablets… but I think I can adjust if I can get one for cheap. I want USB-C but I suppose I can live without…
-
@sammycola Wait I didn’t realize that the 6th gen minis had USB-C! I’ll probably pick one up then.
-
@fujiwara Yes we finally have USB-C!!! It was really only the accessories and the phones that held out on Lightning. I really wish they didn’t take so long to switch over, but yeah fully featured C (maybe thunderbolt? idk if that’s only on the Pros or not, doesn’t really matter).
I have a purple mini 6 that I literally never use, it just sits there collecting dust. -
@sammycola The mini 6 has USB-C though right? If you’re not using it, I’ll buy it off you :btr_ryo_lurk:
-
@fujiwara mini 6 is usb-c and the current model
-
@sammycola The 7th gen came out a few days ago actually! It looks exactly the same :zerotwoevillaugh:
