In a world where enough women are searching “can my husband find out who I voted for” to make it trend in search engines and social media, there should never be a question again about the value of and right to end-to-end encrypted and private personal ...

@mekkaokereke @DoesntExist @jcrabapple @Tarah @corycarson I wonder: the trend you show only goes back to Oct of 2023… which (coincidently 0_o ) doesn’t have an election… what’s the trend of that phrase (or paraphrases) over the last 16 years? That would be a much more convincing graph… what you showed was hardly convincing at all.
If you’re going to use data to make your point: use the correct data.

@rusozoll @WhiteCatTamer @SpaceLifeForm @Tarah In all states it's a provisional ballot that is counted only after it is shown your other one was invalidated.

1. I'm not here to convince you of anything. Keep trying to free Melania if you want. Good luck with that.
2. Do your own data fetches.
3. This is the right data.
The below trends charts are what it looks like when voters really care about something. These charts: "Joe Biden Gaza" and "Kamala Harris Gaza" and "Can I vote by Mail"

@RegGuy @WhiteCatTamer @SpaceLifeForm @Tarah the part I couldn't find is if I mail on my ballot, how to cancel it. In the thread, it'd be in the case of a spouse voting by mail under duress, but also applicable if someone changed their mind.
I didn't see provisions to do that in UT, but found the process for Michigan (at least for primaries, but I'd assume it applies to general) fairly quickly. Their deadline should be tomorrow 2pm.

@mekkaokereke @DoesntExist @jcrabapple @Tarah @corycarson there is also this:
Which shows a growing concern jumping heavily around 2020…
The phrase about the husband might be manufactured: but the sentiment may be organic.

Do you realize that search term also includes:
* Husbands afraid of their wives
* Children afraid of their parents
* Black employees of a pro-Trump white employer
* People that "have Black friends" but want to vote for Trump anyway. Shy Republicans, as they're called.Etc etc?
And that it takes more imaginary thinking and "white women: always the victim, never the villain!" mentality to map that term to the "free Melania use case?

"For much of the last decade, white women have been more likely to describe themselves as “pro-life” than black women have, according to a Gallup analysis of national polling data on abortion between 2010 and 2019, conducted at the request of NBC News. During that period, 46 percent of white women described themselves as “pro-life,” compared to 36 percent of black women."
It’s not just men: White conservative women have played key role in abortion policy changes this year
White women have joined men, mostly but not exclusively in the Deep South, in using their conservative majorities in multiple state legislatures to make sweeping changes to abortion policies this year.

“White conservative women and men are not, of course, alone in opposing abortion. A full 42 % of black evangelical Protestants and 37 % of non-white Catholics told researchers with the Public Religion Research Institute that they believe abortion should be illegal in most or all cases.”
LOOK @ the sample size & location.
There are dozens of studies breaking this down and it is not race, it is religion & geographic location

Let us not forget as well we live in a patriarchy, meaning women are rewarded and punished largely at the will of men who as a majority run our governments, institutions, employment, and lives. You have cherry-picked data to blame white women again for everything, when they’re voting for Harris & against restrictive abortion laws in bigger numbers ever seen before. If you are going to make these claims as a cheap shot, do yr research

showing a spike on its own vs comparing it on the same axis is a bit weird. don't cherry pick.
1. Gaza is searched more, obviously, so context and size are important.
2. People are still occasionally curious about if others can see their vote, especially in 2020
3. end to end chat still has value, as does privacy from big tech.
4. marketing can bring something to light, but, as you've pointed out in the past, people are gonna watch what they're gonna watch ("silly videos get more engagement than hateful ones") so... if it has traction, it's for a reason. This seems like a flip-flop from your usual logic that algorithms don't influence people, or that algorithms are positive-biased, or should be.
Sometimes the genuine news people need is bad, or the genuine privacy advice is that google spies on you. Is it upsetting? sure. Is it valuable to the target demographic? yes.
Is news typically racist and sensationalized, sure.

I haven't cherry picked anything.
White women in the US consistently vote for the most racist person on the ballot. White women self-identity as pro-life.
They aren't voting for Harris in huge numbers. All the data that you can find on this smerges white women with other women to make it look like white women are significantly pro-Harris, when that's not the case.
Don't bring your indignity at the way white women vote into my mentions.

People who grow up in repressive, punitive families learn how to lie very early.
The thing about Christofascism is that the ideal is so humanly impossible to live up to, there is no existing without lying. Indeed, that is it's power - to force everyone to live a lie.

I don't care about your anger.️
It's par for the course for people that refuse to hold white women accountable for the harm they cause.
The majority of white women voters, consistently vote for a racist, and you're mad at a Black man for saying that? Get out of my mentions.
I'm immune to your anger, and your tears. I don't care about your feelings. I care about combating racism. Especially the kind of racism that denies accountability.

If you're talking to me here, take your anger and misogyny elsewhere.
Make sure you're directing your rants correctly, please.
Mind how you go now.
Edit: you appear to be responding to someone I can't see, so they're blocked or muted.
Kindly don't tag me in this. You look like a nutter.

I wasn't responding to you. I was responding to someone mad that 47% of white women self-identity as pro-life, and more than 50% of white women voters voted for Trump, twice.
Of course I look like a nutter. I'm speaking against racism.
And it's funny how white people think it's misogynistic to point out how much racism white women do, but Black women don't think that's misogynistic. Black women say "That's what we've been saying!!!"

No. You came into a woman’s comments who was speaking about domestic violence and made it about you, and racism. You look nuts because it is nuts and extremely anti-social to do that. You are attacking her as a member of a large demographic that she is a member of by no choice. She is not responsible for shitty white women. If you want to talk about racism do it on your own page and stop flinging it as an insult at her
