Do something similar to what Biden did? Lots of people would love to see that, but…I think he’s a narcissist and cannot bear to go. He sacrificed he marriage for this.

@Greengordon I think if someone he trusts flips and can tell him and convince him he will lose and Pierre will win if he stays, he will go eventually. I would be shocked at this point if he stays past New Years.
-
@chris What makes me uncomfortable about this is the idea that it had to be some sort of ploy if political game. The bit I heard, that CBC and others have been reporting, seemed like something people should take seriously on its own merits.
-
@edwiebe definitely!

Most Canadians are pleased with Trudeau's handling of the pandemic. It wasn't until PP started making Trudeau responsible for all governmental action & inaction that the idea came that he 'has to go.'
Every time someone says JT has to go, I think of PP's personal and vitriolic attacks on the Prime Minister.
Looks like they worked, eh?
-
@northernlights @chris @edwiebe
It is insulting to some of us who want Trudeau gone to say that we only believe that because we’ve been brainwashed by PP. There could be actual reasons, you know.
-
I'm not suggesting Trudeau is perfect or infallible; being human, no politician is.
I'm saying most of us thought he was doing a good enough job in shitty circumstances - until PP launched in.
Discounting the impact of PP's attacks on public support for the Prime Minister, no matter your views of Trudeau's leadership, is a little disingenuous, don't you think?
-
@northernlights @chris @edwiebe
Of course PP’s attacks will have some effect. They are also turning a lot of people off.
He was doing a typical Liberal job: Lying about action on climate, refusing to tax the rich, allowing healthcare to decay, lying about electoral reform, and refusing to step aside even though that could well mean a Conservative majority.
-
All this during the inquiry into foreign interference?
-
@northernlights @chris @edwiebe
Of course not. People didn’t suddenly ‘get tired’ of Trudeau. It was a slow build.
-
...completely fostered by PP's personal and deceitful attack ads.

And/or, maybe Trudeau’s lies had something to do with it?
-
What lies, exactly?
-
@northernlights @chris @edwiebe
Seriously, what lies? I gather you’re a hard-core liberal partisan, but here goes anyway:
1. “This is the last election under first past the post.” That lie alone should have seen him out the door.
2. Declared a climate emergency, then bought a pipeline in a wasted attempt to buy Albertan votes.
3. SNC-LavalinI’ll stop there, because I’m confident you have reasons why these are not lies/are okay.
-
I'm not a hard-core Liberal partisan, but I despise PP so much - and am not impressed with Singh - that I'd rather have Trudeau again.
Yes, you picked two policy promises that Trudeau broke. You win!
Tell me, what will you do when Poilievre shuts down sustainable energy generation, like Smith in Alberta? Or privatizes our health system? Carry on blaming Trudeau for it?
