Call For Recommendations - Mastodon Follow Pack: US Politics News and Opinion
Going to try something here.
What accounts do you follow in the area of US Politics News and Opinion that you would recommend?
Please list no more than five, and try not to repeat accounts if someone else has listed it.
If this is successful, the list will be consolidated and published and an uploadable .csv will be made available. If this works for this topic we will try other topics.

️ Please consider responding to the above request for Follow Pack Recomendations. We're gotten some great suggestions and the plan is to publish the first "Follow Pack" post later today along with an uploadable .csv to enable importing/following all of the accounts.Even just replying with your one or two "essential" follows would be great!

How about adding some non-US based news accounts, to give a wider range of opinions? Of course, they topics they cover will be more broad. Flipboard will have somme, e.g. https://mastodon.scot/@AlJazeera@flipboard.com

Thanks for the suggestion. The intent if this is popular is to solicit recommendations for differently themed Follow Packs too. World Politics is a good potential Follow Pack. Thoughts for other Follow Packs greatly appreciated!

https://fedi.directory/ is a superb resource and everyone should use it.
The idea behind Follow Packs is to periodically get some top recommendations from the community and make a one-click means of following the accounts as well as a .csv to follow them all.
It's a different use case.

@mastodonmigration @FediFollows I'm just thinking data reuse here . maybe one can be converted into the other by running a script or something

The other consideration is data overload. The hope here is to boil it down to a few essential accounts per pack. One issue that people have with large directories is where to start and how to prioritize. Again the directory is fabulous. This is just a different thing.
