#Greece - The association of the families of the victims of the #Tempi train tragedy are calling for protest rallies Today across Greece two years after 57 people were killed.

The latest call for answers comes after audio evidence leaked a few days ago week indicated that some 30 of the 57 victims of the crash were still alive after the Thessaloniki-bound intercity passenger train collided head-on with a freight carrier and died due to an explosion of “unknown substances” on the freight train.

Many of the victims were university students heading back to school after a long holiday weekend. The leaked audio comes from phones belonging to some of these students, in which they can be heard, after the crash, calling for help and gasping for breath. The audio was captured after the impact triggered a call to the 112 European emergency hotline.

Questions have also emerged after part of the site of the crash was covered in concrete and gravel shortly after the incident, possibly destroying evidence that may be crucial to the investigation, as well as victims’ remains.
