somehow I've just had to utter the sentence "I'm not horny I'm just reading FX2 docs" and I now I wonder what's gone wrong with my life

@mwk blink twice if you're under duress
-
@mwk why not both?
Or is that a bit too far even for you?
-
@azonenberg ... I am *not* fucking an FX2
-
@mwk Lol. Are you sure?
I've heard some very interesting stories from folks involved in the design process of some wirelessly controlled toys.
See, to get FCC intentional radiator testing done they needed to measure the radiation pattern and do other EMC testing in a device configuration that mirrored the actual intended usage.
Which meant putting the product in an RF chamber in an as-used configuration.
Which meant fabricating a mannequin with RF properties comparable to human tissue, including orfices in the appropriate location for the DUT to be inserted into.
This particular one was nRF based IIRC, but I'm sure before BLE became the preferred interface for such things there was some USB control in use.

@azonenberg @mwk oh yeah this makes perfect sense

@whitequark @mwk Imagine being an engineer at some RF testing lab.
Test plan step 3: You can take the DUT and shove it up the dummy's _______.
No, really. That's where it goes. Pick a hole, any hole. We need radiation patterns from all of them. Just tell us which data is from which.

@azonenberg @mwk if i'm being paid like six hundred a hour to do it i will do it
i mean i personally will do it either way, it's not like a plastic vagina bothers me
