I've noticed the cognitive damage! Not at the time, but later, when I reviewed something I'd done and realized it showed impaired cognition. (It's glaringly obvious if you're a writer who starts each daily work session by revising what you did the day before.)
I think we've probably all noticed a deterioration in road users since 2020, too. More aggressive/heedless driving, etc.

@cstross same here, and scary if you don’t realise how bad it is until you are better, certainly nobody else wants to know either️I did ask once, should there not be a proper assessment, but NO, one point you don’t want to think about too much about

I have not returned to conferences yet.
I don't know how to keep myself safe at such a large event where no one is masking.
