I am trying to fix a DNS problem and I am having a bad time so at least I know there really are some constants in the world
-
@kissane there's got to be some deep law about the relative utility of technologies that can be inferred from the contrast between the incredible resilience of DNS and the utter *state* of DNS management tools.
-
@kissane it's ALWAYS DNS
-
@kissane Another constant would be the large number of DNS people who would want to help you with wildly different solutions on different layers and with only somewhat likelihood to work for your actual problem. Just ask!
-
@paulehoffman @kissane I would add that if you ask Paul you'll probably get a quality answer.
-
@timbray @paulehoffman @kissane i would like to help too, but i am only senior helpdesk so will defer.

@engarneering @timbray @paulehoffman flipping a horrible sequence of switches and waiting 12 hours seems to have sorted it
for
now
