Is there such a thing as selective misophonia? As in I can't stand voices or music but natural or mechanical sounds are fine for me? Or I'm just an asshole?
(Yes, I am and I know it, as you do if you didn't block me yet.)

@angelastella you don't like any voices or music?
How do you avoid voices? I can see being able to avoid music for the most part, but voices? You'd have to be an extreme recluse, I think?

I am. Things is, I can tune out voices if I can't quite get what they're saying: if the speech decoder kicks in I'm fucked. Two or more voices in conversation? That's earphones and white noise time for me. Live music in the bus or train when I can't escape? Head banging freely against the window!

@angelastella ahh...this makes sense.
I am also an extreme recluse since I have no reason to leave the house most days.
I also tune out voices if I dont get what they're saying or am just uninterested.
Thanks for the explanation. Seems more plausible now than originally imagined.

You're welcome. People should talk a lot more about this, we're doing poorly on mental health. It's almost all down to coping strategies and/or someone who cares for us.

@angelastella facts.
Also it's important to note that a lot of us with mental health issues don't have good coping strategies *or* many caring people, if any at all.
We're just getting by, begrudgingly.
