Reminder that there are currently several issues with the federated #reporting system, including that #Mastodon #instances don't parse #Misskey #reports properly, and that #Akkoma instances aren't getting reports from #Sharkey at all. Developers are working on these, but in the meantime, let's all remember to make sure reports are going through before we assume they're being ignored: there have been multiple cases of instances getting into fights over misunderstandings like this.
Keep your communication lines open: the #Fediverse is a communal project, and it's up to us to make it work!

@[email protected] Oh, good to know. Good thing I have a Mastodon alt specifically for reporting whenever I need it. :cirno_fumo_yes: Misskey's reporting system kinda sucks anyway when it comes to forwarding reports as a moderator/admin (I have to report, then go to my Control Panel => Reports, and then not forget to toggle the switch for forwarding the report before marking it as "resolved"), though I do wish other fediverse software also had the option to only allow moderators to forward reports instead of letting all users forward, since Misskey does the former

@[email protected] Also I'm curious, do Mastodon moderators get notifications whenever a report is received? Because here in Misskey I have to always open the Control Panel manually regularly to check if I got one...

@[email protected] @[email protected] misskey sends email for reports so basically useless if you don't have an email server set up

@[email protected] @[email protected] actually this might also just be sharkey as well though

@sneexy @mima
So wait, is it trying to send us emails to give us the reports? Because that would explain the fact that they format with code and URLs in the description instead of posts and information...Or do you mean the system to tell moderators we have a report?
Because yes, we get notifications every time there's a report, with one annoying exception: if there is already a report open on someone, it doesn't give us a notification. This is good when one person posts something stupid or is being brigaded by someone with a lot of followers telling people to report them (never FediBlock I noticed) but it can be bad if you've left a report open on someone with the intent of coming to look back, and then later that day they post something else that gets reported.
