@crankylinuxuser @ajn142 @defcon So they still show no interest in resolving the issue?
I mean, it's one way to make their reputation go down the drain for sureβ¦

Im certainly not going back. I cannot and will not back a "hacking" org that attacks the very creators who attend.
Thats the establishment. I attended DC to thumb my nose at the establishment. And they have become that.
Even their own statement: https://old.reddit.com/r/Defcon/comments/1ep00ln/def_cons_response_to_the_badge_controversy is laughable...
" DEF CON became aware that unauthorized code had been included in the firmware"
UNAUTHORIZED CODE..... AT A haCkERr CoN??!? What ever shall we do? Oh wait, it was unauthorized by who again? The guy who wrote it and maintains sole copyright on it? Uh huh.
Defcon showed their true colors here. Its just enshittification of what used to be cool and awesome, and now hyper-commercialized by a bunch of vultures.

@crankylinuxuser @ajn142 @defcon Perhaps it's time for a US-based Chaos Communication Congress.
