To all the non-Jews out there, as someone from a group that went through this exact same thing, we need you to understand how terrified many Jews must be right now.

Donald #Trump, a man who encourages #violence and racial thinking, has just openly stated that Jews would be to blame if he loses. It doesn't matter what the nuance of the context is, his more violent supporters and allies will see this as a green light to do things they weren't doing before. And we know how he thinks: this is a promise to go after them, just as he has with queer people.
With queer people, it's been as subtle as rude remarks said aloud when they would have been silent, and gone as far as a 14 year old being inspired to shoot a dozen people at his high school in his first weeks there because people aren't supporting violence against transgender people.
Please, be vigilant, your Jewish friends and neighbors may need you to stand with them.
This wave of antisemitism is about to get worse.

@Raccoon There's been an uptick of antisemitism on the left too, which is sickening.

They might be in for a surprise. Turn the other cheek is a Christian saying.

Be specific. I'm in many left spaces and have seen very little antisemitism. Nothing remotely similar to powerful voices on the right.

@Nochem @flatchulancelot
I do. It's woven in with the more extreme end of the anti-Israeli-genocide crowd. People who "forget" to separate talking about the policies of the current Israeli government from talking about Israelis and Jews in general.And I get it, because yes, what is happening in Gaza is clearly, to use Biden's understatement, "Over the top", and to quote Harris, "The scale of suffering is heartbreaking", and Netanahu needs a firmer hand pressuring him into the peace talks that his allies in the US and UK keep setting up for him.
But Netanyahu is the one to blame for this, and anyone trying to put this on the Jews or the Israelis, even those who aren't opposing him, forgets what it is like to be afraid, and forgets who has the agency here: Netanyahu is the problem here, not "Israel", and not "the Jews".

@alter_kaker @nerb
Being campaigned against, I would assume.Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the Jewish community as a whole starts embracing this and openly opposing him in a race to take the blame for his loss, seeing as he's already blamed them.

@Raccoon I can't see the other person's comment, but I agree with what you've said.

@flatchulancelot
It was someone on Koleltiva, which may be silenced by your instance. You should be able to see it if you view it from my post on TechHub. -

I haven't seen much of what you are talking about in any of the Left spaces I am active in. I am not saying it doesn't exist, but in my daily experiences dealing with a broad range of Left activists, I don't see it. And I am pretty open about being Jewish.
On the other hand, I've had to deal with supporters of Israel (including non-Jews) who bizarrely accuse Jews of antisemitism because we are anti-Zionist. The chutzpah of non-Jews lecturing to Jews about antisemitism!
To me, the problem is more than Netanyahu. It is in fact "Israel" and it is self-deception to think that the recent Zionist experiment will in any way protect us from antisemitism.

By the way, @flatchulancelot, if you want to see the posts @Nochem is making, you should be able to do so by following them. Silences work by interfering with incoming traffic from the silenced server, but can be bypassed by design if you follow the person.
