As Noah Berlatsky reports, Green Party voters have long pretended that they really believe their candidate can win.

@wdlindsy The burgeoning Global Brigade of Angry People transcends all kinds of traditional divisions in religion, race, politics, nationality and pretty much everything else you can think of. Nothing means anything anymore except vengeance against … something. Meanwhile, the billionaires sit back and laugh, knowing it won’t be them.

@Pagan_Activist @msbellows Thank you. You're right on the mark with that analysis.

@janisf I have a different analysis. If we expect to turn back the tide of fascism, we need to stop tearing away at each other and bashing the Democrats, while ignoring the REAL problem and danger, which is the Republicans. Otherwise, we might as well admit we're doing the Republicans' work fopr them.

@wdlindsy Young people. You can't just bash them on the head with everything that's going wrong and blame them. Not only is it inaccurate, it's effectively abusive.
WE need to win THEM. Not the other way 'round.

One thing I've wondered about - yes, she is running (again) for President, but if by some wild occurrence, she wins and took the office - would she be able to execute the duties fully?
Didn't she have to register as a foreign agent at some point? Those people can't receive classified briefings and other such things, correct? -

@janisf Young people? Where is there any mention of young people in the thread? Someone who wants to tear down the Democratic Party's coalition to serve the ends of the Republican party can find all kinds of ways to try to accomplish that goal.
What that someone forfeits is the right to pretend she or he is really interested in pursuing the goals of the Democratic party as she or he clearly works on behalf of the Republican party.
Enough.

@KCDOZ I'm not sure Jill Stein ever registered as a foreign agent, though I have seen claims to that effect. It has definitely been proven that her 2016 presidential run was heavily boosted by Russian networks, however.

Yes, I meant to refer to the political system intentionally broken such a way that unfair two-party dominance results.
But the rest of my comment still holds. Your very own party *wants* to and is abusing & deceiving you with no end: even if they couldn't change the system, they could at least admit the problem, and ask for help.
Instead, their message is "vote us, sacrifice Palestine+Israel etc for your abortion rights". And repression & suffering to the rest of Earth. -

@jupito @tntneedham The big threat we face in the US (and this is a global threat, too) comes from the Republican party and not the Democratic party. The Democratic party is far from perfect, but directing attention to it as if it's the enemy given the real threat posed by the Republican party is a sad and dangerous waste of time. I don't intend to waste my own time in that way.
