The /r/piracy link to lemmy /c/piracy hit the reddit frontpage with 7K+ updoots!

Congrats to all lemming pirates !

Makes me smile to see people recognizing me outside of my Screenshot posts. I didn’t realize that I was known outside of the gaming community I post in though lol
-
What instance did you go to then? I don't keep up on "the best" instances, or those that defederate or block certain things. I was part of kbin.social at first, then moved to .world.
-
Good question. I don't know how many fingers a lemming has neither do I know how many a mouse has. I use a mouse in the prompt as @[email protected] does not know what animal is a lemming.

Lemm.ee the one that shows in my account name. They prioritize uptime and connection/association. We choose what instances and communities we want to see. Blocking is our responsibility.
-
But not .world or .ml? I got an account in both and I didn’t know those places were disliked until I started getting automatic bans only for being in those instances.
Having to read through the entire lore of lemmy and get informed on all the instances and relationships between them seems like a nightmare. You make an account on one instances then after few days you get told that your instance is literally satan and you should switch to a different one. It's like with Linux distros. No mater which one you pick, you chose wrong.
The high drama is as hilarious as it is pathetic.

I don't think defed has been that bad, and I think over time we'll get more features to avoid having to defed (aside from illegal content or spam).
Like users being able to block users and/or communities by instance, or admins being able to set default block lists for new users, or users being able to easily share block lists.
-
Who is 'lemmy' though. Without someone making money there is no motivation to do that.
All of the biggest instances could take turns running ads for themselves lol

All that does is cost them money for the adds, then increase their running costs by adding users.
It's good for the community, but not great for them.
-
Oh good. It was just mass spamming. I was very confused when I got that same message from 3 different accounts, but it was the same message with the same links. I thought I was being targeted.
Yeah I got a whole bunch for whatever reason.

Teach them about beans.
And jeans

reddit actually defended the piracy subreddit? lmao
Yep. I made a point to troll then with that at the time.

Sadly /c/piracy is blocked from .world I think.
-
Later on there was drama because they blocked it a second time anyway. xD

I thought Heinz was the gold standard in the UK. I must try the Branston ones. Flippin' love that pickle.
Don't think I've ever seen them in the supermarket in Ireland but my sister's visiting from the UK on Sunday so I think I'll place an order.

to the new users:
Ahoy, maties
Arrrr! Welcome aboard, ye scallywags!

No love for jetbrains?
It's still commercial, proprietary software

Announcement stands at a high number of downvotes. The people have spoken, the admins did not listen.
