We'll start out with our introduction, then question from @pete:
Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's the last 'cycling thing' you've bought or used?
Can you provide a mini-review?

@ascentale @pete Tooting at the end of #biketober from what seems to be Hotlanta again.
Bought would be a Click-Stand [1], used would be my Beeline Velo 2 [2].
The stand is great. Super stable with almost anything on the bike.
I have some complaints about the Beeline, but they're minor. If all you want is a way to do heads up nav without burning your phone to dust it's great.

@ascentale @pete A1. Auckland, New Zealand.
Last purchase was an Ergon Women's ST Gel Comfort saddle for my manual bike after the nose fell off my old saddle. I've had issues trying to ride this bike for more than 30mins daily as I get too sore (I could do longer rides but then I'd need a day off to recover). Definite improvement with the new saddle so I'm now riding it for an hour daily.

@ascentale @pete A1: Home bound at the moment in Somerville, MA.
I won't be using any of my bike specific things for a while unfortunately.
I guess a thing that I got for biking was my REI brand UPF 50 long sleeve shirt, it's a good sun shirt that is mesh-ish so isn't too too hot for the summer. Saturday it was good in that sense, it also doesn't have any holes in it after I crashed which I guess is a testament to durability. also meant I didn't directly contact the road.

@ascentale @pete A1 addendum: I am home bound currently because I crashed my bike on Saturday and broke my collarbone, so I won't be riding for a while.

@edd @ascentale @pete oooh, I should have thought if this as a #BijeNitePQ this week! "Do you do #biketober or #coffeneuring or some other yearly bike challenge? What were your results and how has it changed your cycling habits?"

@max_in_somer @ascentale @pete ouch, I'm glad you're okay otherwise, that sounds like it could have been really bad!

@sam @ascentale @pete Bahhhh, I'm still a little sore from the 10+% hills at the end of that 20 mile commute home Tuesday...
-
@ascentale @pete posting from a French cafΓ© in Marietta, GA this morning (I woke up and was out of coffee, so I decided to make a morning if getting some even though I *really* don't need to be splurging on Crepes!)
I recently bought a set of Wera torx wrenches. For hand tools these are much better than the crappy soft ones Park sells (which are fine for home use, but round out quickly in a shop setting). Do recommend.

@edd @ascentale @pete yah, my knees have learned that my bike needs some adjustment before I do a proper tour⦠or two days on two days off.
-
@AngelaAntunovic @ascentale I hear good things about Ergon saddles. I have some of their grips. Oh in fact, an eBay purchase of another pair just arrived in the post today.
-
@pete @ascentale Nice colour. I have Ergon grips too. I'd be keen to try their cork grips if mine ever need replacing.
-
@AngelaAntunovic @pete @ascentale I normally love cork as a material, but I wasn't a huge fan of the ergon cork grips. They just got a bit sweaty and were harder to clean than the regular ones IMO. They felt great though.
