But while people here shout about how Trump is stupid and can't win, his poll results and even his favorability ratings continue to improve.

There's a colossal final effort and turnout operation needed for Kamala Harris to win this.

@eberhofer I'm not quite clear what you mean when you say I'm right. But yes, at least we're being told the polls are close, but so many games are now played with weaponized polls that I always maintain a wait-and-see attitude regarding elections. I have no doubt, at the same time, that shamefully large numbers of Americans want the fascism the Republican party is now selling, though, and you're right, it's a slog to the end for Kamala Harris. Then we'll wait and see what happens.

@wdlindsy right - the polls might be manipulated, of course. But the consistency in the polls across pollsters and states is actually remarkable. It's also consistent with developments in betting markets, crypto and the DJT stock price.

But what matters at the end is who turns out to vote.

@eberhofer I never discount polling out of hand. That wouldn't be wise. At the same time, we have growing evidence that in recent elections, the Republicans use polling as a weapon to skew polling results, and it's not wise to ignore that now-confirmed finding, either.

We also know that the mainstream media are perfectly willing to be led by the nose by right-wing Republicans, so of course, those weaponized polls get treated as bona fide in the media.

A Supreme Court who’ll restrict all the rights of the people they hate, including the right to vote. Someone to sign the deportation papers.
