Impeaching Alito and Thomas would require Conviction by the Senate: After the House impeaches the justice, the Senate holds a trial. To convict and remove the justice from office, a two-thirds majority vote is required in the Senate. This means at least 67 out of 100 Senators must vote to convict.
We will be lucky to hold the Senate this election, let alone reach those levels. Let’s keep it real, folks. Justice is going to take awhile. A long while.

@shoq Decades if ever, yep. I've been a single issue voter since 2004: counter-balancing the last several decades of right wing rule on SCOTUS and the federal courts. Why I often say that even in some weird scenario where Republicans become a normal party with center/center-left candidates I agree with and purge all vestiges of MAGA and the theocrats, there is no practical timetable I'd be able to vote for them for POTUS or US Senate. Even if by some magic wand tomorrow SCOTUS was a 7-2 liberal leaning majority with federal courts similarly composed it would still take 30+ years to undo the damage done. That's hitting up against my life expectancy. While we made some progress during Biden's first term we have so so much more to do and their judicial pics aren't as single mindedly focused as the Federalist Society hacks have been, for better or worse. I could live to be 100 and maybe never see us undo the damage of the past 20 years.
