Please read http://community.nodebb.org/topic/810 if you already haven't.
So I know there's already integration with Ghost and WordPress for comments that connect with NodeBB.
But I'm wondering if there is or would be a standalone project for NodeBB which, lets you put comment sections into plain HTML/CSS websites, or websites with PHP etc.
P.S I know NodeBB concentrates more on the community forum side, but I'm just saying it would make life a little easier, and more accessible.
Yup, definitely on my TODO list WP integration isn't even complete yet, but you can expect both standalone + WP to be released at the same time (~0.4x)
Awesome. Thanks for the answer bro.
When it becomes possible to use NodeBB as a commenting system for WP, is it going to be possible to import existing WP comments into the new commenting system?
We were looking into this for Disqus actually. One of those things that I can't tell you how easy it will be until I look into how WP comments look like
Probably would have to build something similar to what @bentael did with nodebb-plugin-import
I'm thinking that since WP comments are just plain text with a few URLs and bold and italicized text here and there, that it shouldn't be that much of an issue.
