@risottobias it's not a bug, it's a "feature". Only high-karma users can flag (downvote) comments, which unsurprisingly contributes to a mono-culture that tolerates transphobia.

@risottobias Without making any comment on the Hacker News culture, there is flagging. Click the timestamp on the comment and it’s at the top right. There is an unspecified but “small” karma threshold for it to appear. This mechanism is separate from downvoting, which does have a high karma threshold.
