Where my roti-heads out there?
.... because frankly I have no idea what I'm doing. Anyone made roti successfully?
-
@TheBreadmonkey You need to find the videos with the angriest people making roti to learn. The anger makes it work.
(or at least that's what I've been told.)
-
@mayintoronto @TheBreadmonkey I make roti all the time. But there is also the concept of rage baking, started by Black women online, then co-opted by others
-
I suspect mine is just - a bit of pastry that is cooked and a bit flat. I lived somewhere about 25 years ago that had a restaurant that sort of actively encouraged you not to be there. They were furious about people coming in. Sort of bottle crate tables and no on-licence, but the absolute best rendang and roti I've ever had in my life. As soon as you finished they told you to get out.

@TheBreadmonkey @skinnylatte @mayintoronto
This is in no way inconsistent with the rage hypothesis!

@stevegis_ssg @TheBreadmonkey @mayintoronto there are plenty of restaurants in Hong Kong and Malaysia where if they are too nice to me, I assume the food is bad
