I've also been looking at racial bias, #racism in #Computergraphics. (There was a path I was on, from Grace Hopper's wikipedia entry (because of the recently released NSA lecture) to #lenna to shirley cards in #photography until finally I got here.)

@TheodoreKim has a video I watched about this that was really eye opening for me. I've asked my lecturer in the #uniofsheffield about this as I'll be doing a computer graphics module, so I'll see what he says. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROuE8xYLpX8

Hi Olivia, hope you're well.
Our Black Voices Community is a place to discuss issues which affect BIPOC across the globe.
Your post was picked up because of your use of hashtag racism and because your post speaks about racial inequalities.
We'd love to see what your lecturer has to say as a follow up in the Community, but if you'd rather be completely removed let me know and I can prevent your account from featuring!

@newsmast Thanks for explaining how it works. It's probably best to remove me. I would feel uncomfortable being associated with "black voices" even superficially because the voices I'd wanna support and amplify should come from black people. That I am not.

No worries!
I've made that change now. If it doesn't work, please let us know and we'll take another look - sometimes the tech can be slippery!
