Honestly for such a small place, Monterey-Salinas Transit is pretty good. I can reliably depend on it to get to work, on days when I don’t feel like biking, which is.. better than many other places here?!?
I wish they ran a bit longer so I have more nighttime options
-
Also now exploring bus A and B for taco options in Seaside. Living on that side of town doesn’t make going to work ‘walkable’ but it makes me much happier with ‘diverse food’ haha
-
@skinnylatte @skinnylatte How is the taco vs getting rice in for breakfast angle going?
-
@jbaggs I can eat tacos or rice happily at any meal. Savory stuff beyond just eggs and meat is ideal especially
-
@skinnylatte Oh, I meant with getting it there. It's been years since I spent time in that part of CA, but I felt the options for "Mexican savory breakfast" were better than others.
-
@skinnylatte frequencies in #salinas are pretty painful for many routes, 30 or even 60 minutes 15 or 20 would be a huge improvement.
Also yeah service ending at 6:30pm is not useful for an evening out.
Really hoping they find some funding for improvements!
-
@jbaggs oh, would be easier if I had a car in terms of pickup options. But
Now that I have a kitchen I’ll probably just make my own! So that helps
-
@sneako yeah the ones I take 1, 2 and A and B are not terrible but I remember the buses in Salinas being pretty infrequent
