Just wanted to say thank you to my feed for not having weird hissy fits about “censorship” (it’s private companies doing it ppl) in video games and the likes. Especially since it in 99% of the cases are just a slight cover up and generally because characters are minors.
Not to mention that the people doing it is using dog whistles right and right.
We have a nice community and I cherish that. It’s inclusive and just so nicely normal.
(And for the record there is nothing wrong with sexy ladies and sexy lads and all that jazz. I’m not exactly a prude:))

@fujiwara Yeah it’s just changes. Sure it’s ok to be a little sad about some of it, and there’s often a want to experience the original as original.
I often find that translations tends to be more of a problematic issue. Ranging from poor to adding in things that weren’t there to begin with (please don’t). But the response needs to be sane.
If a community starts to accept dog whistling members, the whole community gets poisoned imho.

@yon Yeah honestly I’m not really sweating most changes that games make when they localize things over here. Sometimes the transitions can be very poor and that is unfortunate, but if they cover up some cleavage or something I don’t really see the point in whining about it.

@fujiwara Not to mention that I hand on heart would never have noticed the cover ups anyways. Hell the games in questions tends to be cakey as all can be anyways. We’re not talking religious fundamentalist dictatorship state censorship here. Just a bit more clothes.
Hell sometimes it even looks better afterwards.

@fujiwara Xenoblade Chronicles X put more clothes on a 13 (!) year old and removed a boob size slider (which btw if you look it up doesn’t change to that dang much. You can’t get close to Pyra from what I could tell.). The horror, right?
And I’m just here looking forward to a fun game I’ve wanted to play for a long time (pre-ordered it!). That and Monolith Soft hasn’t said more than “it’s based on the NA release”, as if that means that much. It’s a definite edition, not a port.

I love Pyra/Mythra (that spoiler has sailed due to smash bros) as a character. But Mio/Eunice/Sena is equally great.
Just as Aloy and EVE are equally awesome (and both feature in amazing games that look amazing).
