I made a loaf of beer bread. It called for an oatmeal stout and was every bit as delicious as it looks in this photo. I used St-Ambroise Oatmeal Stout from McAuslan, an old favourite.

Todayβs version of beer/cheese bread again uses a cup of whole Red Fife flour in place of a cup of white flour, along with Lancashire and Cheddar cheeses. And the beer this time is Abundant Courage Wit Bier with Black Currant and Orange, from Wellington Brewery in Guelph Ontario. It's very tasty, and good to enjoy on a cold and snowy day.

Alright, itβs been quite a while since I posted one of these. Hereβs the latest version of a beer/cheese bread that I love to make. This one uses New Growth West Coast IPA, from Wellington Brewery in Guelph, Ontario. And I used a mix of cheddar and Gouda in the batter and on top. Trying it soon, after it has some time to coolβ¦

@uxmark oooh, I just realized that while I'm in Vancouver/Squamish next month for a couple of weeks I get to sample all the local beers that we don't get in the South East of the continent⦠this is a very exciting revelation that I somehow hadn't considered before! I know you're not in the same province, but if you have recommendations, I'll try 'em!

@beer @uxmark excellent! I like a bit of everything. I normally avoid fruity beers (unless it's a sour, which I like a lot). I like anything hoppy (IPAs that aren't too citrus-y or juicy), or super malty (toasted malts, brown ales, ambers, etc.). I tend to avoid wheaty stuff too; I like it, but I just have to be in a specific mood for a hefeweizen or what not.
