If you make abortion a capital offense, you will kill women. A few will die by the state’s hand, landing on death row because of abortion or miscarriage that is misattributed to elective abortion. Many more will die because doctors won’t risk their lives treating obstetric emergencies that might fall into the scientifically illiterate definitions set out by law.
