One day -700 instances because your dns server is being DoS’d. Next day? Woah that’s crazy we’re federating with over 2k instances in both directions combined.

When I had delivery issues my pubsub numbers also plummeted, it's some aggregate of instances with successful pubsub operations in the past x hours -
@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] my personal rule of thumb is that if it’s outside +-40 instances then it’s a problem. I am used to daily fluctuations within that range for this instance. Obviously when our dns went down and half of our federated instances couldn’t federate with us I saw -700 and that was a big deal to me.
