@alexsir Yep, I guess that's the port NodeBB is configured to listen on my default. At the end of that guide, there's a link to another guide that explains how to configure nginx as a proxy - which would allow you to either configure a domain to point to your NodeBB process, and/or omit the port from the URL.

Hi, Is there any way to install NodeBB on my PC running Windows 7 Ulitmate / Ubuntu 12.04 ? I guess WAMP is not an option. I would like to try the latest version. Also can you recommend any free host where I can do a test install and play with it ? Thanks.

Unfortunately, this isn't like most PHP forums where you just drop the files and it works... requires a little bit more effort (usually a VPS instead of a shared host), so they don't really give those away freely
However, Heroku does offer a free plan, with Redis2go's free plan, you can cobble together a working NodeBB installation.
