Employers like H-1B not because they can pay them less, but because H-1B have fewer rights than Americans.

Employers like H-1B not because they can pay them less, but because H-1B have fewer rights than Americans. They can't easily change jobs, for one.
I will say though that being a H-1B worker at Apple or Microsoft or Google or any tech startup or bank or consulting firm for that matter is very different from being one at a large outsourcing firm, like Wipro or Infosys or Cognizant.

@skinnylatte This may be a hottake, but I consider Wipro, Infosys, and Cognizant as body shopping firms. They exist mostly to transfer Indian employees to the U.S. for on-site work. I haven't met a single Indian IT guy who came to the U.S. to work for these companies and stay with them for more than a year.

@pratik not a hot take at all, a correct take. basically their same business model, just international
