amiga fault never made sense to meā¦ it was low-effort body horror and Iām not sure why 4chan venerated it. like why are people drawn to the holes? who cares who it was made for lol. and who made them? itās stretched too thin to expect readers to feel involved in the horror AND continue with unanswered questions about the premise

Ito often works like Lovecraft, being drawn to something irrational you cannot understand is the whole point. Itās also heavily utilized in Uzumaki. The body horror is just the cherry on top.
The sensation is quite common for a lot of people, think of ālāappel du videā (call of the void) or intrusive thoughts in general.

You just havenāt met your hole yet.

This is why the right to repair is so importantā¦ So we can add thing to stuff, so we donāt have to buy new stuff.

Every time I see something like this it reminds me of the short film More by Mark Osborne.

We might still buy new stuff, because adding things to existing can be expensive (in terms time and effort). I just spent hours (and Iām not done) looking for PC parts to utilize my old CPU in a home server. If I didnāt have very specific hardware requirements Iād just chuck it in the bin and buy a pre-built mini PC. And for most people Iād imagine thatās the case. People donāt want to tinker, they just want things to work. Right to repair is very much right to tinker. It suits people like me, but itās not going to matter to people like my wife, who would much rather buy a new laptop than make the current one not work at a snails pace.
Donāt get me wrong, right to repair is important and I 100% support it, but my point is that itās only important to us. The average Joe will never care and will much rather buy a new thing than make the existing one like the new one.

Itās supposed to also help the average person by letting repair shops actually be able to repair older devices so you donāt end up being forced to buy a new device because the company says it will cost more to repair it then to just buy a new one as a way to force you to pay more to buy something new.

Our generation got shoveled into college by victims of propaganda who didnāt realize until far too late that it was a debt industry. Iām sorry you had to go through it.
