Someone told me and I can’t believe it’s true, that the 38 bus in San Francisco has a larger ridership than Portland’s entire bus system
-
@skinnylatte 50,000 people a day ride the 38? That’s insane. How!?
-
@skinnylatte carries more people daily than an entire year of traffic on Berryessa/Milpitas BART stations
-
@collin it’s probably the only bus that is so frequent I *never* look up when it’s coming.
At any time. I think I only feel that way about 38 and 49, and most other buses are more like the bus service I expect of N American cities
-
@dev wow!
-
@skinnylatte whoops, entire month* still pretty bad
-
@dev that like to berryessa takes such an ass long time
-
@skinnylatte I also do not believe it's true
hundreds of thousands of riders use the 38 bus daily?
-
@kf 54,000
Maybe not the entire Portland bus system then. But more than Caltrain haha
-
@skinnylatte I *think* that was me. If so, I checked my work when I saw this and I think whoever originally told me that was a bit off, sorry about the misinfo.
Up to date numbers are weirdly hard to find but afaict it’s closer to 1/4 of trimet, ~50k/day vs ~200k/day.
Still absolutely wild for one route though.

@Catfish_Man ooh, no someone else told me that in person! But thanks for checking
