Been craving something else like Elite: Dangerous lately. Preferably single player but I was open to ideas. Anyway I made the mistake of thinking about Star Citizen. Luckily I watched a video of the current state of the game, and it was bug, bug, physics bug, bug, bug, physics bug, bug that autocompletes your mission, bug that causes enemies to be invulnerable, bug that causes things to fall out of your cargo hold when you try to close the door (this is also a physics bug). No thanks.

Anyway, I have determined that there is no other game that gives me the things I actually like about Elite Dangerous in a quality I am willing to pay money for.

The most ideal solution to my problem would be the ability to run the E:D server locally so that I could just play elite without needing an internet connection to be on at all times. But Frontier didn't make the game that way, because the "background simulation" is too important to their vision for the game. But I don't give a fuck about the background simulation, I just want to blow up rocks and other ships, fly around space, do some trading, explore a bit maybe. That can all be STATIC!

@vadhakara I'm told Egosoft's "X" games scratch the itch for "Elite: Dangerous, but offline" pretty well, even if the reviews indicate it's a bit of an acquired taste. (But then, I guess you could say the same about "Elite: Dangerous.")
