The big surprise of the election is that the Kamala Harris is set to lose the popular vote.

In looking at the vote counts across both elections, it seems the key reason for the loss is less that more people voted for Trump than last time but instead that a lot of Democratic voters sat out the election.

This is the enthusiasm gap and one that grew because Kamala failed to land a message that capitalized on the initial burst of energy around her candidacy.

@carnage4life 9 million less people voted for Harris than Biden. People tuned out the Democrats, meanwhile, Trump didn’t gain, or more importantly lose, any votes at all. It proves again that the electorate as a whole doesn’t care about the candidate. They care about how they personally are doing and if they think the candidate or party will help them.
