Patel has asserted that the FBI is an "utterly corrupt" agency. He has repeatedly referred to the news media as "the most powerful enemy of the United States that it's ever seen," and said that he would put "the entire fake news mafia press corps" on his list.
"We're going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig the election," Patel told Steve Bannon. "We're going to come after you whether it's criminally or civilly."
The FBI is a lot of things, but corrupt is not one of them, AFAICT. I've never met a bigger of bunch of rule-following people in my life. This man cannot be confirmed.

@briankrebs If he is appointed, he will be in similar hearings many times, defending critical decisions he has made in office.
The way he is responding to questions here tells me everything I need to about how he will be at those future hearings, and leads me to think he will have no integrity in office. He can’t even state that he will not use the agency as a political weapon
