my struggles with spanish are weird
i was expected to learn spanish from a very young age - it was part of elementary school education
but i struggle to roll my Rs
i now know it's because of the actual physical shape of my palate but in school i was accused of lying and not trying hard enough
i actually have a lisp in english because of it although most english-speakers don't hear it or assume it's an affectation
but as soon as possible - age 10 - i switched to french which my palate handled much more easily.
every time i've tried to learn spanish i've struggled. a mental block.
my partner in crime had a brilliant suggestion that's been working well.
i'm studying spanish for french-speakers.
magically, the materials feel so much more understandable and it's improving my french at the same time

@deilann I have a friend from Finland who had to do speech therapy as a child for not rolling his R:s 'properly'.
