Does anyone else find themselves putting their feet/legs into weird positions for long periods of time while in a working flow state?

I eventually have to break, and find my feet/legs are all pins and needles-y.
-
@octothorpe especially with a comfortable chair. (One of the things I liked about the classic aeron was that it was only comfortable with *good* posture - slouch at all and you felt it *immediately*. Where one of the humanscale chairs was great for slouching/feet up on desk, really comfortable, and then when it was time to get up it would take a minute before actually being able to *walk*
-
@eichin yup… amusingly, I changed my Aeron chair for the Steelcase Gesture Chair. There's a lot I like about it, but also I think maybe the Aeron was better overall for me.
-
@octothorpe Yes.
Also a neurodivergent/autistic trait *it turns out* -
@octothorpe I actually don’t know what that emoji means but I meant it as like “haha jazz hands cuz I’m learning all this crazy shit about my brain now”
-
@andrewhinton wait, whet??
-
@octothorpe It’s not definitive on its own but the tendency to check out of your body somewhat while focused on a task, and getting your body into stress positions when “at rest” is a thing in autism, as far as I understand it
-
@andrewhinton ah, you mentioned an emoji, so I got confused.
-
@octothorpe Oh! Sorry was referring to the emoji I had in that reply
-
@andrewhinton oh weird. I don’t see one?!?
-
@octothorpe Strange! Looks like this to me
-
@andrewhinton oh double weird. That doesn’t appear in my TL *at all*. (Not in Ivory anyway)
-
@octothorpe Whoa — must be some bug acting up?
-
@andrewhinton maybe… it may also be something in a filter. I’ve A LOT of filters.
-
@octothorpe yea, my preferred position is cross legged on the couch, with a pillow and laptop slab atop it with laptop on top. For hours and hours..
-
@octothorpe I think I remember working in a flow state in the before time.
