I hate the feelings of pure stupidity when I hurt myself.

I think I can blame the very slow fall for the shoulder pain, I was doing my best trying to keep us all from going down by presumably pulling very hard on the handlebars with mostly that arm.
40kg of cargo e-bike, 40kg of children, a lot more kg of me once I also became part of the falling unit!
Thankfully the kids were totally fine, and almost laughing, "I didn't get hurt at all!"
Those monkeybar things are great. And there are big footplates so basically they didn't touch the ground at all.

Anyhow, lesson learned - if I feel unsure about anything like that again, I'll go to what I've already been doing for more obviously tricky obstacles - tell the kids to dismount, and walk it over.
Move the safety bar down a little. Done.

Shoulder is still angry after a sleep and the arm is weak now, I can't lift it forwards. Suspecting some kind of rotator cuff injury. Hopefully not one that needs surgery

Been seen. Signed off from tippity-tapping at my keyboard for 3 days. X-ray tomorrow. If no improvement in 2 weeks then MRI.

X-ray result all clear for breaks. It can't see tears, so I just have to go easy and monitor for a couple of weeks, and if there's not improvement then we investigate further...

My bicep is now angry at me for using my elbow joint a lot more than usual to raise my arm and whatever it's carrying, instead of in combination with whatever muscle I've hurt 🫠bodies, eh

Injuries are weird.
I am just as much discomfort as I was a week ago, but I think? Maybe? I've got a better range of movement?
Or am I just better understanding when it hurts and moving myself differently to get around it?
I don't know.
Will see how it is by the end of the week...

So at the end of last week I was still feeling very impatient and unsure it was progressing.
Today I just pulled off a T shirt and was like, whuh, my arm is up? Wtf?!
So there are still some specific angles where it's hurting, but I guess I've regained just enough strength to lift my arm again. Thank goodness.
I'm wondering now if I even hurt the rotator cuff or actually strained a deltoid or two? Who knows. I should have asked the doc which muscle groups were likely hurt.
Yay for progress!

Just been in an MRI machine.
Progress is being made but still getting some sharp twinges during particular movements that make me worry something is torn.
Anyway, thoughts that went through my head:
- have I really taken everything with metal off?
- what if my tooth filling still has some in it?
- don't think I have any mystery piercings
- holy cow that's loud
- is it over? It's gone qui-- no. Not done
- it sounds like my 56K modem (esp. when secretly dialling up in the middle of the night)! -

@sarajw I’ve had a few MRIs now, and hoo boy they didn’t prepare me for how much the clangs and whooshes make it feel like being cornered by a terrible Autechre cover band
