Creating legal documents like Privacy Policies and Terms of Service is so complicated now, but I think that's a good thing as more regions codify privacy into law.

I'm currently drafting these legal docs for Loops, and it feels good to state we aren't using Google Analytics or user tracking, aren't selling data to 3rd parties and don't include 3rd party ads.

@dansup did any of these things cross your mind before the month long countdown ended or
-
What are olfactory recordings/data???
Have we perfected the science of smell to a degree we can capture it and convert it to data??
-
@h They did, I did announce I was only going to ship an Android APK, but due to the demand, I am expediting the mobile app release through the iOS and Play Store.
I understand how upset you may be with how this played out, and I am sorry for that, but I think a few more days is worth it when you consider we can onboard iOS users too.
It will be worth the wait.
-
@dansup as an ios user, yeah, that is the minimum
-
@h Yeah I agree, and the thing about Apple is they are strict when it comes to inclusion into their App Store (or even TestFlight)
We need:
- A valid privacy policy
- Support email
- Implement a block feature
- Allow users to delete their account via the app (since we don't have a webUI)These reasons are why it's been delayed, but I promise you, in a week from now, you'll forget all about this and rock your ultra rare single character username as your browsing Loops.

@dansup while i completely empathise that you’re doing this without more corporate funding and a larger team, you also did set the countdown date yourself, yknow? none of this is easy, certainly not for small teams with low budgets. i get it. but, as an outsider looking in, you did put yourself in this position by overpromising, no? good luck on getting through the launch though, however long it takes, sorry to be a bit bitchy about it

@[email protected] potentially for medical data collection, probably refers to taking notes about someone's smell, doesn't have to be exact, could be used as a mental health indicator.
Example: The patient denies having drinked alcohol, however their breath smelled of alcohol. -
@h I completely agree, I set that milestone release date before I had to deal with a major personal issue and had to push back the release date (and it's still delayed)
I will be more careful with setting deadlines in the future, and I appreciate your understanding.
This is a small hiccup in the scheme of things, and I hope you will continue to reach out to me with any issues you face on the platform once it's available!
The real magic of Loops will be our community and people like you ️

@cody Yeah I just seen the explanation, I think its safe to say I can check Yes
(since we collect video)

@dansup Yup (tho "perfected" might be too much... for now).
Keyword seems to be electro-olfactogram (EOG).
