Apparently, if you have blue hair, youβre pretty much guaranteed to get started at whole walking around Waitrose

@SeaFury I can only imagine! I've got mine down to a fairly quick process now. Even bleaching doesn't take too long. My hair is fairly short though.

@alexandra lol. I think people just judge where bright colors are involved.

@andycarolan I love them because I have a connective tissue disorder that means I fuck my joints on the regular and I get enough feedback through them to be able to catch before I roll my ankles more times than not.
But they can be absolutely horrible on gravel, the nobbly bits on pavements, and trails unless you are in the ones with slightly thicker soles. But those give less feedback.
They also really weird out some folks, which makes me laugh because open toed shoes and sandals don't seem to bug them.

@andycarolan Funny how green, orange or blue hair is remarkable on younger people, but the old granny with the purple rinse? Not so much.

@OtherRyn I bet they are great for feedback! I guess that's part of the whole barefoot running thing?
I don't find them weird at all... but I don't look forward to flipflop season and seeing peoples feet all over the place lol.

@alexandra Recently, Iβve seen people of all ages with brightly colored hair. Seems to be more accepted than it wasβ¦ except in Waitrose it seems lol.

@andycarolan It's definitely part of the whole barefoot running thing (from what I understand. I am not a runner). There's also some back and forth over whether it helps to strengthen the feet and ankles due to not being artificially supported by all the shoe structure we have.
Anymore I use them for weightlifting because I can really plant my power in my heels more easily rather than start to creep forward to the balls of my feet.

@andycarolan You see loads of the kids with great hair colour here and, well, no one blinks an eye. Come on it's so punk era so why the fuss?

@OtherRyn I hear both good and bad about barefoot... I think it's just another example of how diverse and different people are from each other.
Oh now. that's interesting about weightlifting! I can only guess that grip is super important for that!

@alexandra The two girls that started Manic Panic are still looking awesome wearing lots of different hair colors. No restriction on age at all!

@andycarolan I think it depends on your feet, where your center of gravity is, and a bunch of things. Because bodies, yo.
Weightlifting in running shoes makes it harder to power through the heel because the heel is raised slightly above the toes and it's harder to get planted. At least for me.

@andycarolan I love seeing how innovative people can be with hair style and colour.

@OtherRyn Running shoes are soooo confusing. Well, any kind of trainers/sneakers... so many different styles and functions.
Glad your five finger shoes work for you!

@alexandra Theres some really awesome ombre, faded styles around. Mine is quite boring compared to some others.

@andycarolan I see a lot of orange and red, green on the kids going to college around here. They remind me of the punk years.

@andycarolan It's sweet as I don't think they're realise they're rebelling like their parent's generation did!

@alexandra ROFL! There's actually a documentary out there somewhere about the two girls that started Manic Panic during the punk era. Quite fascinating!
