#MarcellusWilliams, a black man imprisoned for the alleged murder of a white woman, was #executed against the wishes of the victim's husband, despite clear mistrial claims, lack of solid evidence, and credible claims of innocence. He was 31 when he was first convicted by an all-white jury in 2001.
This was after a party-line 3 to 5 ruling by the #SCOTUS, and years of denied appeals, requests for reexamination or stay of execution ignored by the Attourney General and Governor of #Missouri.
This is how #politics affects the individual. Republican president Donald Trump was voted in and appointed 3 of the judges who denied the final appeal, the Republican Governor and Attorney General of Missouri were voted in and worked to hasten the execution.
If you don't like this, don't get angry, get out and #vote, and get everyone you know to vote too.

@Raccoon The US really sucks. We could vote out all these evil people if it weren't rigged against us so hard

I disagree: I think the thing preventing us from voting out the bad politicians is the mindset we have.People don't vote because they assume all candidates are corrupt, leading to less corrupt candidates not being elected. People don't vote because they see the system is rigged for the two parties, leading to not electing people within those parties who could make real change. People don't vote because they don't see massive change within a single 2 or 4 year period, leading to not electing people who would make big change over the long term.
This is why I keep telling people to vote for Harris and her party this year, even if she doesn't want to do the things they want, because she's a good stepping stone for getting all the other things done. Also, Democrats almost always stay executions when they can, it's almost always Republican Presidents and Governors who execute people.

@Raccoon I don't disagree. Vote blue up and down the ballot. I'm thinking (hoping) the polls are missing GenZ for the most part because they typically random call people and millennials and younger don't answer our phones

What it seems to me is that Trump voters are almost all "likely voters", which is what they try to look at with these polls: people who are registered to vote and have voted in the past 4 years, and aren't saying they aren't going to vote anymore. Kamala Harris likely has a lead in the "unlikely voters", who may have never voted before, be jaded from not seeing progress, or have not yet registered (1 week left!).That's why the main focus Harris supporters have right now is to get as many people as possible to register before the deadlines start hitting, and to get as many people to turn out to vote for her as possible.
The death penalty is a good arguing point for this, if it's on people's mind, because it's a place we can show a real difference between the candidates: Obama and Biden took concrete steps to stop the federal death penalty, while Trump spent 4 years getting it reinstated so he could execute 12 people in 2020.

@Raccoon Just like when the polls were wrong in 2016, I hope they're wrong again but this time it's a Harris landslide.

We can hope, but right now, I'm focused on making it happen. We need to get as many people to vote for Harris, and the democrats, as possible, and we need to find ways to make Trump's supporters continue to second-guess him.
