So with mastodon.social showing up on Threads `/moderated_servers` list for a few hours but not breaking follow relations with folks it makes me want to understand what exactly that list means. if a server ends up on that list it seems it doesn't sever any ties permanently like a Mastodon `suspend federation` does.

@liaizon Had the same thoughts this morning. And I am also wondering if the way server blocking works is far too strict.
Is there a good case for when severing existing follow relationships would be beneficial? I'd think it should be enough to prevent non-followers from interacting.

Yeah, there's something odd about that list. There are servers listed which still show Zuckerberg's account in searches, implying they haven't been defederated.
I'm wondering if it's some kind of filtering at Threads' end that cannot be detected within the Fediverse.
