This would greatly increase NodeBB's scalability and even add custom CDN support (if CDN's support upload over FTP or similar protocols).
quite a while, is there anyway to do it yourself? plugin or anything?

@BDHarrington7 Correct. At current, we do not associate uploaded files with a particular user, although there should be plugin hooks in place that will allow third-party plugins to maintain this association (for expiry purposes, etc).

Yes you can upgrade from older versions, upgrading from the latest 0.6.x to 0.7.0 will be pretty straightforward.
I already added less on my local nodebb file so I don't have to restart on less changes.
